All American Girl

I'm not one to regularly display my pride for being an American as much as I should, but every Independence Day I'm reminded of how immensely blessed I am to live in this country.  Thinking back on the 4th I'm reminded of an 8 year old me sitting in the bed of my Papa's truck in MO watching colorful smoke bombs do their thing in the street with my sister (while wearing matching t-shirts that our Mimi made for us), hanging out at my parent's house eating BBQ and keeping my fingers crossed that Sean + my step-dad don't kill themselves while lighting off fireworks, and the last few years I remember trying to put together a patriotic outfit with absolutely no luck. 

Red, white and blue aren't necessarily the first colors I gravitate towards when I'm shopping (think black, gray + stripes aside from my fave weekend tee from Anthro).  It's always been a struggle to find something to wear!  That is until I saw this t-shirt grace my Instagram feed the other day from The Shine Project!  It's the perfect fit, and it's something that I can easily wear all year long!
