A Ready Heart

Sean said something the other day that really stuck with me, and that was regardless of what we do in the coming week, next Saturday is going to be an amazing day.  Not only because of all of the planning, or loved ones in town, but because that's the day that we become one.

Do you want to hear something absolutely crazy? In just seven short days I will become a wife! As we prepare the final details for our big day, I'm finding myself more and more focused on preparing my heart for marriage.  I started a Bible study a week ago called "A Ready Heart" that I stumbled upon on Instagram, and I know that it's a study that I will be repeating over and over again for years to come.

With us not currently having a home church, being in the Word as much as I have this past week has been an incredible and comforting experience.  I've been meditating on what God's role for me as Sean's wife really is, and what His role is for Sean as my husband.  If you're engaged, newly married, or have been married for years, I can't say enough amazing things about what this study has done to keep my heart focused on what our wedding day, and ultimately our marriage, is all about.

Here's how to go about the study yourself:

Day 1: Genesis 2:5-25
Day 2: Ecclesiastes 4:7-12
Day 3: Ephesians 5:1-14
Day 4: Ephesians 5:15-32
Day 5: 1 Corinthians 7:1-19
Day 6: 1 Corinthians 7:20-40
Day 7: Colossians 3:1-11
Day 8: Colossians 3:12-19
Day 9: 1 Peter 3:1-6
Day 10: 1 Peter 3:7-12
Day 11: 1 Corinthians 13
Day 12: Proverbs 31:10-31

If you're in the same place in your life as I am and you're preparing for marriage, or if you're currently married, what advice do you have for us?  I'd love to chat with you on how you prepared for the next huge chapter in your life!
