Story Behind The Photo

I recently became the owner of a beautiful white desk from Target that I have had my eye on for almost a year.  Thankfully it was (finally) marked 30% off and I decided that it must be fate.  Because obviously anytime something that I want just happens to be on sale it's fate, right?  Right.  I'm so glad we're on the same page.

One of the reasons I wanted a clean white desk wasn't only because they are pinned all over my Office board on Pinterest, but also so that I would have a clean background for photos like the one you see above.  When I went to take said photo, I seemed to forget that I'm only a little over 5 feet tall and the desk is pretty tall.  So, up the stairs I went to grab one of my dining room chairs to stand on.  Once I arranged all of the ornaments in the perfect position, I stood on top of the dining room chair to find that I had forgotten to move the desk and I had a giant streak of sunlight smack dab in the middle of the photograph.  Lord knows we can't have that!

I proceeded to gently move the desk to the wall, all the while my dog was laying on the ground watching the show, and all of the ornaments fell on the ground.  I picked them up, put them back in their place and got back up on the dining room chair.  The problem?  There were remnants of Kodah's most recent moment of destruction, a bunch of tissue paper, and they were all getting in the shot.  For those of you wondering, the tissue paper that was ripped to shreds is still on my desk and still all over the floor ... and this all happened last Friday.  Number one housewife girl over here, am I right?

As you can tell, I finally got my stuff together and rocked out a killer photo that received approximately 23 likes on Instagram, and I personally think it deserves a lot more due to the amount of craziness that happened while shooting it.  Don't you agree?  Of course you do!  So head on over to my Instagram (@chelceytate), check out a fun little deal that I'm having over at my print shop and while you're at it, give this pretty picture a double tap, will you?  You're the best.
