I'm Starting A YouTube Channel!
Ah! You guys. I can't even begin to explain how excited I am about this announcement! I've been setting this on my list of goals every year for like the last three years, and honestly? I'm just super proud of myself for finally DOING IT! And I'm also super proud of my husband for finding a new passion in photography and videography (because that definitely helps). 😅
My channel is going to be a lot like the things you already see on my blog and Instagram, but I'm hoping that it'll allow you guys to be able to connect with me on a more personal level, and help me open up a little bit more, too. So basically, I'm keeping my options totally open in terms of what I'm going to be sharing on YouTube ... Something I've always struggled with on my blog in general is trying to put everything I do into a nice little labeled box, but that's just not how life (or my brain) works at all. I've only filmed two videos so far, and I seriously can't believe how much it's already opened up my creativity!
I'm not gonna lie, talking into the camera is going to take a while for me to get used to, so please bare with the awkwardness that I'm sure these first handful of videos will have. 😉 Videos just require so much more vulnerability than I'm used to! I was filming a vlog yesterday of us decorating our house for Christmas, and shortly after I wrapped that up I shot the photos for my living room Christmas decor reveal for the blog, and video is definitely pushing me way out of my comfort zone. There have been so many times throughout filming these two videos that I've said "I'm just not good at this" or "What am I even doing right now?", but I think that's exactly what I need. Something different that's going to help me grow.
